Traver Rains, former co-creator of infamous fashion brand Heatherette, has since started his own line, T. Rains. The brand features a wide range of designs from silk-screened tank tops and t-shirts to custom couture dresses. His new line is a combination of influences of his Western roots as a 5th generation horse rancher and his many years of living and designing in NYC. T. Rains growing fan base include the likes of Adam Lambert, Kaya Jones, Ashley Hinshaw, Alan Cumming, Thompson Square, Garrett Neff, Johnny Weir, Lance Bass, Perez Hilton, and Lydia Hearst.
Rains has had a long career in the fashion industry and has shown at New York Fashion Week 16 times. He’s done fashion shows around the world in cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, Moscow, Miami, Mexico City, Vienna and Los Angeles. Throughout his career Rains has the good fortune of working with some of the best models in the business including Naomi Campbell, Devon Aoki, Omahyra Mota, Alek Wek, Anouck Lepere, Bridget Hall, Chanel Iman, Chad White, Coco Rocha, Eva Padberg, Elizabeth Jagger, Flavia de Oliveira, Garrett Neff, Lily Cole, Lydia Hearst, Miranda Kerr, and many more.
In 2007 he and former design partner, Richie Rich, headlined the world-renowned AIDS charity event, Life Ball, in Vienna, Austria. The event has raised millions of dollars to help finance global HIV and AIDS initiatives. Other charitable works include a collaboration with Olympic figure skater, Johnny Weir, to raise money for The Trevor Project. Together they designed a t-shirt with the logo “Army of One” to encourage kids to be strong and to keep believing in themselves. T. Rains debuted a new collection at the Make-A-Wish Ball and will be doing charity fashion shows for Project Ethos and Hotbed Benefit later this year.
Rains is also no stranger to television and film, and has been featured as a guest judge on shows like America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, and The Arrangement. Rains’ acting credits include the 2005 film One Last Thing and My Super Ex-Girlfriend. He has appeared as himself on shows like NBC’s “Fashion on Ice” special, The Anna Nicole Smith Show, MTV’s MADE, MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen, and VH1 Super Group. He’s also appeared live as a fashion correspondent for MTV’s TRL, MTV News, and Good Day LA. Other special appearances include: The Tonight Show, CNN, The Today Show, and Good Day New York Live.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, Rains is also working as a fashion photographer (www.traverrains.com) in his Hollywood studio. He has recently shown his work at exhibits in San Francisco, Hollywood, and Culver City.
